Spring 2024

We have had a very busy second term in 5th Class. We participated in a cycling programme for 8 weeks, we worked on career projects for NCI and visited the college, we started working with an artist in The Lab and Karen has been teaching us music every Thursday. She brought her harp in for us to play.

Ms. Whiston's class have been reading with 1st class and have completed the Zoom Ahead With Reading programme with them. Their final art pieces, which are based on Fairytale stories, will be displayed in the parent's room soon.

We also had amazing student teachers join our classes for a few weeks. Jerry then came to teach us how to code on scratch and now Mr. Fay is encouraging us to continue our coding journeys. We have lots to look forward to in the last term. We will start our swimming lessons, continue to work with Louis, go on our school tour and continue to visit Ms. Healy's first class.

Back to School, January 2024

After a lovely winter break it was back to school for 5th Class. We had lots to look forward to such as cycling classes, coding, music with Karen and GAA. These are just a few things that we have been enjoying this term.

The children are enjoying the first term. We were boxing, dancing, learning Spanish and preparing for our parent's welcome morning along with all of our usual work.

We've been enjoying the lead up to Halloween and were chosen to launch the Big Scream festival! The children have represented their school at a math quiz in O'Connells School where they won first and second place! We are very proud of them. They also entered the local Halloween competition. Three children in 5th class were chosen as the winners! Congratulations.
